In just a few moments, we are going to discuss the three prong process, the desire and dream that you want, the emotions that you have when you think about that dream or desire, the actions that you take, and the results that you get at the very end. I am so excited for this episode. This is Growing Uncomfortable, the podcast that explores techniques that will improve your life. Growing Uncomfortable with Stephanie Lee starts right now. If you are a new listener here at Growing Uncomfortable, I want to welcome you and thank you so much for tuning in to this episode. I hope that you enjoy it. So now everybody, gather around, get your drink, sit down in that comfortable chair like you always do, and relax and enjoy this episode on the three prong process.
56 You know, I just want to say that I love these episodes where I talk about a specific method or process to achieve a dream or desire, and this is the exact thing we are going to discuss in this episode. In this episode, I am going to tell you about the three pronged process, something you can do when you really want a dream or desire or a result to work out for you. This will give you focus and a bit of structure, an unrelenting determination. Don't shun uncomfortable thoughts, situations, or events. You want these things to fill your day, your night, and your life, even if for a moment the situations or events seem unbearable. Remember, these uncomfortable dreams or desires can be any number of things that seem too difficult or terrifying, but they are so worth it because these things are your dreams and your desires. So let's find out how to use the three prong process to get what you want. So we are going to throw away some of that unfortunate, comfortable nonsense that fills our lives and that we don't want, so we can get to those uncomfortable dreams and desires that we do want.
28 So now let's get a little messy and a little dirty. Let's get into the soil of this episode. As you know, this podcast is called growing Uncomfortable, so that is exactly what we're going to do. So what is the first prong of the three prong process. Well, if you've been listening for a while, you've often heard me say putting that seed in the ground is your dream or desire for something new, to different and exciting. You want to have a dream come true. You are in effect growing something new that's your desire. You will then at this point get excited and very gleeful, very happy indeed, and you'll want to do everything that you can do to make that come true. Then there's a second prong. You must water the ground where that seed is planted, that seed being your desire. Remember that stands for the actions that you take. No matter how hard it seems, how anxious you get, how uneasy you become, how terrifying it is, you are going to plow through to get there, do all those tasks and actions and have the exciting, thrilling emotions that match the desire you have always have that after taking very uncomfortable actions, meeting people you don't know,
01 doing actions, and taking steps that you're not sure you even know how to do, you finally, finally all caps begin to see the stalk the stem your dream and desire begins to show through the soil. That is your result for working so hard with your actions. Now there's a sidebar. This is also where you can refine your results to make it perfect and ideal, and you know something. This also means you've had faith in getting whatever that thing you wanted to come into fruition. Fruition, I love that word. Now, don't forget. This can work in two ways, of course. From the book The Strangest Secret by Earl Nightingale, he explains this perfectly. You can, in the the very beginning prong number one, plant a seed of corn the positive thought or desire a vegetable that you enjoy, or you can plant a seed of some poisonous plant. Earl Nightingale uses the poisonous plant night shade as an example.
18 This is, of course, a negative thought or desire that you don't want. They will both grow the same if watered and taken care of. The only difference is the corn represents positive desire and will benefit you and many others. The other seed of night shade represents negative thoughts and actions, and there is no doubt it gives you bad results and nobody wants that. Which one do you want? A positive result or a negative result? That's your choice. In this three prong process, you know if you are headed in the right direction according to the way you feel and your emotions what are your emotions throughout the day?
09 Are you happy, excited and determined about having that desire and with the actions you take? Now, I want to share my three prong process with you. I had an exciting new prospect, a new adventure, but I was truly uncomfortable with it, and that didn't stop me from using this three prong process. It was about five years ago, and as my big birthday rolled on by, I had no idea where life would be taking me next. I was living an extremely unfulfilling life, not happy with my relationship and looking for change. Well, one morning I woke up and I was looking out at the sunrise and thought about my days at college where I studied radio and television. I loved it back then, a life that was truly care free. A sense of joy came over me at that moment. A wave of happiness filled me as I was lost in my thoughts. Then suddenly I began to have a burning desire to do radio again.
17 But maybe not radio, but something like it. What would that be podcasting? I had never even thought about podcasting, nor had I even listened to a podcast. Well, I sat with this thought for a while. I knew this was to be my burning desire and dream. That was Prong number one. I was so happy and excited with this podcasting dream and desire. Then I reached Prong number two thoughts actions. I must act on this. It can't wait, I can't wait. Before I knew it, I was ordering what I needed to podcast, a microphone head set that was easy enough to put together and start using right away, no time like the present. I was taking action, and then another action what would my podcast be about? And then another action what would my podcast be called? And then another action. I had to find where to put my podcast so listeners could hear it. These actions came quickly as it all started to come together lightning fast.
26 All throughout this process, I was getting more and more excited, and I was imagining more and more how I was to become a podcaster, And finally I reached prong number three. Finally the three prong process was complete as I got my first episode uploaded on a podcast server exactly one week later. And that was the end result. That was the three prong process, and before I knew it, I was ready for the next three prong process, another goal, your three prong process of change doesn't even have to make sense to you at first, nor do you have to know how you began to desire that thing you desire or the exact way your desire will happen. All you need to know is that you want that result.
21 Anything that requires you to fix your desire and focus onto a great unknown will be uncomfortable, believe me, and that is okay because you are growing uncomfortable. As many thought leaders have said, this requires a certain amount of faith that you are doing the right thing, taking the right actions and steps, and doing your very best, as we can never be entirely sure that our efforts will be met with success. After all, part of being uncomfortable is that you may fail, as you might. It doesn't mean it's the end of your journey, you see. To have that desire for anything and continually go for it, there must be faith that that thing you desire, whatever it is, will be yours eventually, and it can be by using the three prong process. Let me tell you that it is said that Thomas Edison failed ten thousand times while inventing the light bulb, and I'm sure he felt the agony of defeat and failure, but he had that burning desire and was continuously making corrections and changing his actions. All along. He knew about the three prong process, even if it wasn't called that in those days. Hey
52 talking about Thomas Edison. I love the story of Edwin C. Barnes, the man who thought his way into part with Thomas Edison, a near impossible feat for the everyday onlooker. This is a story of true, uncomfortable faith and growth and a certain amount of unrelenting terror, sleepless nights, and crafty activities. Edwin C. Barnes stepped out of that comfortable situation and grew finally feeling the success he dreamed of, even though he had many opportunities to give up. I suspect you can relate to this story as I did. Edwin C.
37 Barnes had a burning desire to work with Thomas Edison as his partner. He had that desire, he planted the seed. In nineteen o five, Edwin caught a freight train a freight train because of a lack of funds to ride coach, but he caught the freight train to Orange, New Jersey, where Edison worked and lived. When he arrived, he stated to Edison his intentions to work as his partner. He took the actions to make that happen. With little experience. Thomas Edison said okay, but put Edwin to work as a floor sweeper. Edwin did whatever he could do to make his desire happen. He took actions to make it happen, even if it was as a floor sweeper. So for two years he kept sweeping floors until a golden opportunity came when Thomas Edison was working on the dictation machine, yet another of Edison's great inventions. He stood over Thomas Edison watching him work. He took actions to make things happen, and notice. Edwin never gave up or thought of quitting.
51 He only looked to the future goal he had set for himself, that of being a partner with Thomas Edison. Edwin took on the task of convincing Edison into letting him sell the dictation machines. Because the sales force working for Thomas Edison had little interest and doubted that it would be a hot sell, so Edwin took actions and began to sell the dictation machines. Within months, Edwin had sold thousands of the dictation machines and started his own company, Barnes and Brothers. He took actions to make it happen.
33 From selling dictation machines, Edwin became a multi millionaire at a very young age. He got the results and the desire he wanted. Edwin C. Barnes took that three prong processes and used it to his advantage. He got exactly the right opportunity at the right time to work alongside with Thomas Edison on a wonderful project. He knew exactly what he wanted and he did not give up until he got the results he wanted. As Napoleon Hill has said about this story, we can look back at the story of Edwin C. Barnes and know that he had no money to begin with. He had but little education, He had no influence, but he did have initiative, faith, and the will to win. Napoleon Hill, relaying this story in his book Think and Grow Rich, says, if you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. Maybe, just maybe, this three prong process will take you in a wonderful, new and different direction, as it did with Edwin C. Barnes.
43 So do you have a burning dream or desire and are you willing to put in the actions to get that dream or desire and make it into a great result. If you answered yes to both questions, then you will get those the great results that only you want. You can confidently cultivate them. Think on the three prong process to have your dream or desire become a reality. Remember, all you need is this. Start with a desire or dream, get happy, excited, and start fantasizing about that thing you want. Start taking those actions that will make it happen. This will, in turn create the results you want, and then you can, at this point, if you wish, maybe refine the results if necessary. It's that simple, the three prong process. What is it that you want or dream about? Say it out loud if you can right now, And if you can't say it out loud right now, then say it in your heart like you mean it. This is what I want for you today and every day.
